Depression exists in many suicides, but most people with depression do not suicide, and not all who kill themselves are depressed. Many factors are associated with suicide. A genetic predisposition, situational stresses, over concern with the opinion of other people, and unconscious states are relevant.
Those who have tried suicide and survived very often do not want to repeat it.
